Social Skills Group
Camp Simon's social skills groups promote learning and skills building in a small, supportive environment.  The model is based on Irvin Yalom's therapeutic factors that:
  • Promotes the helper-helper roles of each individual 
  • Instills a sense hope and optimism
  • Imparts a sense of universality
  • Provides valuable information
  • Creates an altruistic environment
  • Promotes socializing techniques
  • Encourages positive, imitative behavior
  • Promotes emotional learning
  • Promotes interpersonal learning
Types of groups:

1. Social Skills group for kids
  • Ages 5 to 12
  • Session 1 - September to December
  • Session 2 - January to June
2. Social Skills group for teens
  • Ages 13 to 17 years
  • Session 1 - September to December
  • Session 2 - January to June
